The A II is Chihiros doing what made its name: strong, plant-focused light without the flagship price tag. Three dense rows of LEDs deliver a roughly 8 000 Kelvin spectrum weighted toward the red and blue wavelengths plants feed on, and the built-in Bluetooth controller brings timing, dimming and dawn-to-dusk ramps to a light class that usually offers a wall switch. Six lengths cover everything from a 30 cm nano to a 120 cm community tank.

Coverage runs across the visible range with deliberate emphasis on red and blue — the bands that drive photosynthesis — filled out with green-yellow for a bright, natural look at around 8 000 K. Stems stay compact, carpets spread, and fish colours read true.

Can I use the A II under a closed hood?

No — it is IP43 splash-proof and designed for open-top tanks only; the trapped humidity under a sealed hood will damage the LEDs over time. For lighting inside a hood, use the IP67-rated Chihiros Universal WRGB instead.

What do the A II model numbers mean?

They track tank length: a 301 suits a roughly 30 cm tank, a 601 a 60 cm tank, a 1201 a 120 cm tank, and so on across the six sizes.
