Chihiros Cooling Fan

App controlBluetooth

A Highveld heatwave can push a planted tank past 30 °C by mid-afternoon — lethal territory for shrimp and misery for fish. The Chihiros Cooling Fan clamps to the rim and drives evaporative cooling across the surface, typically pulling water temperature down by 2 to 4 degrees. A water probe plus built-in room temperature and humidity sensors feed its auto mode: the fan simply switches itself on when your tank needs it and off when it doesn’t.

In detail

A silent aluminium clip-on fan that sheds 2–4 °C on hot days — probe-driven, app-scheduled, summer insurance for your tank.

Cooling that watches the thermometer for you

Set a target in the My Chihiros app and auto mode handles the rest, spinning up as the probe reads high and standing down at night. Three speeds trade airflow against sound — though with a brushless motor in an aluminium shell, even full speed stays conversation-quiet.

Built like equipment, not a toy

The IP55-rated aluminium body shrugs off splash and humidity, the 9 V supply keeps everything at safe low voltage, and the whole unit sips under 3 watts — pennies a month for a summer of protection. The adjustable clamp grips glass up to 19 mm thick.

Frequently asked questions

How much can a fan really cool a tank?

Evaporative cooling typically pulls water temperature down 2 – 4 °C — usually the difference between a stressed tank and a safe one during a South African heatwave.

Can it switch itself on only when needed?

Yes — auto mode reads the included water probe (plus room temperature and humidity sensors) and spins up only when the tank crosses your set point. Control is app-only over Bluetooth.

What tanks does it fit?

Tanks up to about 60 cm, clamping onto glass up to 19 mm thick. The brushless motor in an aluminium IP55 shell stays quiet even at full speed.

The smart ecosystem

One app. Your whole aquascape.

Chihiros gear is designed to work as a system — pair a device over Bluetooth, shape its schedule in the My Chihiros app, and add the WiFi Hub Pro when you want the whole tank in your pocket.

My Chihiros app

One free app runs the whole system over Bluetooth — dial in spectrum, brightness and daily light schedules with realistic sunrise and sunset ramps.

WRGB spectrum control

Red, green, blue and white channels adjust independently, so you can push plant colour, soften glare or match the look of your hardscape.

WiFi Hub Pro

Bridge your gear onto your home network and manage up to 20 Chihiros devices remotely — check schedules and tweak settings from anywhere.

One connected system

Lights, dosing pumps, CO2, heating and the smart power strip all speak the same language, growing with your aquascape one device at a time.
